Dominik Lejman

Dominik Lejman (b. 1969 in Gdańsk) studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk (1989–1993) and at the Royal College of Art in London (1993–1995). Since 2005, he has led the Painting Studio at the Magdalena Abakanowicz University of the Arts in Poznań. He is the recipient of several awards, including the Polityka Passport (2001) and the Berlin Art Prize (2018).

He creates so-called hybrid paintings—combinations of traditional painting with video projections, including video frescoes, large-format photo murals, and public space installations. His works are held in the collections of institutions such as the Centre for Contemporary Art Ujazdowski Castle, the Museum of Art in Łódź, the Cleveland Clinic Collection, as well as in numerous private collections.
