Monika Misztal

Monika Misztal (born 1986, Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski) – visual artist, painter, expressionist. She studied at the Faculty of Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków (2008–2012) and in the Painting Concepts Studio at the Faculty of Media Art at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw (2018–2021). In her practice, she employs grotesque exaggeration, bold chromatic decisions and striking contrasts to create a space of heightened experience, in which her personal emotions find an echo in the viewer’s consciousness. 

Her works are held in the collections of the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw, m jak malarstwo (mBank), the KAF Collection, the Starak Family Foundation Collection, the Omena Art Foundation, as well as in numerous private collections. 

She lives and works in the Praga-Północ district of Warsaw.
