Report on the closing of Tamara Berdowska's exhibition "Sublimations"
On the occasion of the closing of Tamara Berdowska's first solo exhibition entitled "Sublimations. "Sublimations' at MOLSKI gallery&collection, a remarkable conversation took place with the artist, conducted by the curator of the project, Phd. Agnieszka Tes.
We had the pleasure of hearing about the origins of Berdowska's work, her numerous sources of inspiration, her relationships with authorities and her personal bond with art.
The sublimations that Tamara Berdowska makes through her art are connected with an extraordinary discipline of creation, with a close connection between art and life, with the sense of existence. Sublimations which are consistently undertaken over and over again... When I look at the artist's works, which are masterful in form and expression, I cannot imagine that there could have been inner demons at the root of their creation. Sometimes, admittedly, the paintings disturb me, touching my abysses as well, but most often they resonate with the need to transcend the "here and now", with the desire for completeness, the need for the beauty of ideal orders, the longing for something that exists beyond the unpredictability and cruelty of life. Some of the works have become my mandalas too, a realm in which the psyche can take refuge. They are for me a glimpse of the perfection of mind and self, of the cosmos and transcendence. Berdowska's sublimations can be resonated with very personally, through different levels of sensitivity, intellectual, emotional or spiritual needs, because there is a depth of experience and power of imagination transposed into universal language.
